Eurasian Wigeon and Gadwall at Cutler Wetland

This morning I hit Cutler Wetland and Dump Marsh area. Both the Toeway and Dump Marsh were devoid of anything but a few Coots and Ibis.

Cutler Wetland had thousands of birds including both wigeons. I found the Eurasian Wigeon in the main body of water and two American Wigeon on the Southwest Corner next to the apartments. The majority of the ducks were in that corner.

I also found a male Gadwall in that corner. I almost missed it with because its head was tucked and only the tail was facing me, but then an immature Bald Eagle flew overhead. It along with all the other ducks flew. I could easily see the square white patch on the trailing edge of the wing. I did locate the Gadwall sitting on the water after the ducks settled and had good looks.

A dozen Brown Headed Cowbirds at Dump Marsh with a flock of Starlings.
