The Short-tailed Hawks stay year-round. They are hard to find and usually are not very reliable. I have seen six in my lifetime, 14 years, but I really was not very aware of them until last year, when I saw six of them. There are 2 of them in Miami Shores, not far north of Downtown Miami. Check near the gulf course in Miami Shores. I have seen them on some occasions. Mangrove Cuckoos are not as common now, but are common in Summer, especially in the Florida Keys. Check in Card Sound Road that heads towards the Keys.
Hundreds of White-winged Parakeets live in Miami Shores, aswell as in Kendall. Look for them sitting in Canary Island Date Palms. White-crowned Pigeons are beautiful, and almost 100% guaranteed in the Florida Keys, north into Kendall. In Kendall, they can be found in the Parking Lot of the visitor Center at the Charles Deering Estate on Cutler Road. Good luck. White-winged Parakeets are by far the most likely of those birds. There are many migration traps, and a good one is A.D. Barnes Park, which i think is in South Miami. I have never been their, but the posts from last year and 2001 should give you a good idea how it is. Also, try Bill Baggs State Park. Lokk at the old posts for information.
