Kendall Christmas Bird Count - participants wanted!

The recent arrival of the American Birds Christmas Count Issue reminds me that it s time to start preparing for the KENDALL CHRISTMAS BIRD COUNT, scheduled for Saturday, December 22nd .

Volunteers are needed to help survey the count area, which runs roughly from Bird Road south to Black Point, and from the Bay over to SW 147th Avenue. Last year, we tallied 124 species (+ 9 exotics), which was only 2 species off the all-time record. Species highlights included Western Spindalis, Nashville Warbler, Franklin s Gull, Hooded Merganser, Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, Western Kingbird, Swainson s Hawk and Tennessee Warbler.

Birders of ALL experience levels are needed, and even if you only watch your feeders your input can help. If you are interested in participating, PLEASE email me directly :
