at 1:45 today i saw an immature coopers hawk having a late lunch beneath my feeder. i watched him for several minutes and thought i would try to get a picture but as i unlocked the patio door he took flight. there were two kills. both were from today but i do not know if they were by the same hawk ot at the same time. all that was left were the feathers of a monk parakeet (the one i saw him eating) and a mourning dove about 3 feet away. i have seen coopers in the neighborhood (plantation) but have never had a kill at my feeder before these two.
