This afternoon at 6:00 p.m., the number of Swallow-tailed Kites had increased to six (6) on Marvin Lane and SW 148th Avenue in Davie. All six were circling around the top of the pine trees next to 148th Ave. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the Swallow-tailed Kite's nest from last season. They are being observed on a daily basis, just about anytime. I saw one this morning as I was driving by and on Sunday, I saw them at noon.

Also, this morning at 8:15 a.m., I observed a Pileated Woodpecker in some dead trees on SW 148th Avenue, about three block north of Marvin Lane. The trees are next to the road and I watched the bird move from one tree to another searching for breakfast or perhaps, hopefully, a home. I will keep checking those trees to see if it returns.
