Good evening Steve,

The Black-hooded Parakeet is considered by the FOS Records Committee to be an established exotic, but the ABA Checklist Committee regrettably did not follow suit last year (maybe later).

However, the Black-hooded Parakeet is considered established only along the central Gulf coast of Florida. Populations elsewhere in the state, including those along the southern Atlantic coast, are not known to support populations large enough {"several hundred breeding pairs") to be considered established by the FOSRC.

If you search the BRDBRAIN archives, you can find several locations for Black-hoodeds in the St. Petersburg area.
