What you describe is not a Lincoln's. They don't have gray breasts. It sounds like another Swamp Sparrow.
Size is not a field mark for separating these two species. Lincoln's and Swamp are basically the same size. Within species variation is much larger than the small average differences in tail length (Swamp longer) and wing length (Lincoln's longer).
