Nine mile pond in Flamingo (Everglades N.P.)is now the hot spot feeding grounds from many many birds!!!

Birds spotted on Canoe Trail (Markers 1 to 38)
9:00am-12:00pm

30+ Woodstorks
2 Feeding spoonbills + multiple fly overs
Female Anhinga
5 Caspian Terns
5 Ospreys ( two catching fish!!)
1 Imm. Bald Eagle ( stealing fish from Osprey's!)
1 Mature Bald Eagle
8 White Crowned Pigeons
15+ Glossy Ibis
White Pelicans
Kingfisher
10+ GB Herons
10+ Great Egret
Snowy Egrets
Little Blue Heron
Common Moorhens
American Coots
D.C. Cormorants
Many Many Gators!
One Gator with Great Egret in Mouth! MMM...Dinner...

Lots of Fun Wildlife Viewing!

Down by the group sites of Flamingo campground there have been two Pileated woodpeckers regularly seen.
