This morning we headed out to the Cutler Wetlands before work to hopefully add the Eurasian Wigeon to our life list and we did!
It was definately worth standing in the sporadic heavy rain showers. We got there around 8:45 am and searched for about a half hour before we finally located a few American Wigeon & the rare Eurasian Wigeon. There was many species to see and the time passed rather quickly so around 10:50 am we had to head out to make it to work on time. As we were about to leave we saw Paul Bithorn and tagged him it to continue observing the rarity.
Although we really wish we had a scope, it was still an awesome lifer for us to observe. We plan to head back out there again tomorrow since we are both off work.
Another amazing highlight for us today was seeing 21 Roseate Spoonbill flying together in between one of the rain showers, more than we have ever seen at once. They were absoutely beautiful and amazing as they flew directly over us above. Thank you Toe for the tip to add a rare lifer today!
We spotted several other species listed below:

Eurasian Wigeon
American Wigeon
Blue-winged Teal
Green-winged Teal
Northern Shoveler
American Coot
American Avocet
