There is a beautiful male Eurasian Wigeon across from the Wastewater Treatment Plant on SW 232 St. near Cutler Wetlands. From Cutler Wetlands, take 97 Ave. south and turn left on 232 St. The wastewater plant will be on the south side. About halfway to 87 Ave. on the left (north) side there is a chain link gate. This area is part of the Lennar Flow-way, a CERP project, and has recently been treated for exotics and is in prime condition for birds. The wigeon was in a flock of ducks that consisted of about 300+ Blue-winged Teal and a smaller number of Shovelers about 400 feet to the northeast of the gate. There were also 2 Avocets, ~40 Yellowlegs, and a few Dowitchers.

I'm not sure about the status of this location, but I will talk to the appropriate agency folks tomorrow about allowing access to birders to see the bird. I will post my findings.
