On Wednesday, March 12th, I birded the tracks with a friend and spotted, among buntings and grosbeaks, the Lincoln's sparrow John talked about. First one for me, thanks John! Went there again today for a quick peek but didn't see it...didn't really try that hard though.
Quick question: I've spotted mature male and female blue grosbeaks on several occasions, including today, but I'm wondering whether the blue-colored juveniles I'm seeing, four today, are grosbeaks or indigo buntings. No rufous on wings of these and their bills seemed smaller than the mature grosbeak's. Any pointers for telling the juveniles of both species apart?

Chipotles,
Raul
