I was with a small group of people out on Loop Road this weekend and a Red Shoulder Hawk perched about 100 feet from us. This really disconcerting to the two Blue and one green heron perched nearby. She then alighted and re-perched within 20 feet of us. Upon departure she came straight towards us and over our heads - within 10 feet of our heads. The question: while perched she kept wagging her tail feathers from side to side - anyone have insights into the body language?
