Unfortunately we worked all day but a bird found me in an unexpected way. While I was out to lunch with a friend we stopped at the Doral Postal Office to mail a letter. While we were waiting to pay for the postage in line I see a little flash of a bird flying back in forth confused inside of the post office. Oh no I told my friend that is a Black-Throated Blue Warbler that has traveled from very far and is now trapped in the post office franticly trying to find his way back outside. He was flying close to the ceiling and occasionally hovered to peck the lighting thinking that was a way back to the sun outside while people just glanced and then simply looked away.

Regardless of the strange looks I received by several in the line I waited a moment until he tired out and landed close to the ground. I slowly walked towards him with my sweater in hand as he cautiously looked at me and then perched up on the windowsill then pecked the glass hoping that was the way out. Carefully I placed my sweater over the glass gentlely scooped him in my hand and walked outside to a tree and slowly opened my hands and he flew into the tree as he called back to me. Which I considered a very nice Thank You. What a pleasant surprise!

Unfortunately I then had to head back to my office cubicle. Interesting Monday I have to say.

In the morning before work we birded the lake at the end of my work parking lot (Angel's morning spot) in Doral.
A noticeable difference from last week. Birds seen today:

4 Common Yellowthroat
2 American Redstart
2 BG Gnatcatcher
2 Green Heron
1 Great Egret
1 Common Moorhen
1 Anhinga
5 Boat-tailed Grackle
2 Blue Jay
1 American Kestrel
Last week there were more birds in the same area.
also today my memorable Black-throated Blue Warbler!

Tomorrow we are both off work so guess what are plans are...definately BIRDING! I know all of you are so surprised.
Good birding to all.

Nature is Awesome!!
