My esteemed colleagues. This photogrpah was taken in Yellowstone National Park, October 2001. It was believed to be a Greater white-fronted goose. But on closer inspection the black tip beak doesn't qualify. The beak seems to make it a bean goose. National Geographic, Sibley, Thayer have all been consulted with no agreement. The bird was neck wounded and in company with about twenty Canadian geese. Picture by Carol Zeglen.
