The last two weeks have been amazing here in the Riverland neighborhood. I have had Hummingbirds at the firebush for the last four days, a small flock of black throated blues feeding fervently for the last two days, and various other birds passing through: several Redstarts male and female, Magnolia Warblers, a few Palm Warblers, Blue grey GC's, Oven birds, Black and white W's, and a Piliated WP... but the reason for the posting is the female Summer Tanager that has been here all afternoon. She has bathed in a puddle and has been eating well. She has a distinctly disheveled crown above her left eye and what appears to be a scar on her belly - she does seem healthy despite an apparent scuffle. Easily marked so keep an eye our for her. Enjoy!
