A quick walk on the nature trail and through the north picnic area at Greynolds Park produced a nice assortment of migratory bird around 10am. The highlight remains a beautiful and vocal male Hooded Warbler in the fern glade on the south side of the picnic area (Been in the same area for a week). Other birds observed were:
Cape May Warbler (many in ficus)
Orange-crowned Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler (many in ficus)
Black & White Warbler
Common Yellowthroat Warbler
Yellow-throated Warbler
Worm-eating Warbler
Palm Warbler (many)
Prairie Warbler
American Redstart (many)
Parula Warbler
Ovenbird
Yellow-throated Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
White-eyed Vireo
Catbird
Indigo Bunting
An immature Cooper's Hawk put on a comical show (not for the squirrel) as it kept flying around a Sabal Palm trying to catch a Gray Squirrel. After about ten minutes of the hunt, the hawk gave up.
Several Peregrine Falcons and Merlins were at Crandon Park observed along the Osprey Nature Trail.
