Great report (and photo) from Hialeah, Rafael. You've taken the origins controversy from mere speculation to real observation. The evidence mounts that most, if not all, of Florida Bay's birds are from wild Bahamian and/or Caribbean flocks. Certainly the 2500 birds reported in Florida Bay by DP Ingraham, and the 1000 birds reported by ornithologists Scott, Howe & others, all reported from the late 1800's to the turn of the century, must have been wild birds...long before there was a Hialeah Racetrack.
