According to the Dunn/Garrett warbler book, Nashville is one of the few warblers that is a circum-Gulf migrant. Since it's not a trans-Gulf migrant, finding them in South Florida during migration is all the more interesting. Earlier accounts (1957) state that few Nashvilles migrate through the Southeast and that first-year birds use coastal routes, while adult birds migrate more inland. This makes sense, for the few birds noted in Cape Florida have been in drab plumage.
