Take the service road on the west side of Matheson Hammock (across the new entrance to Fairchild Tropical Audubon) and walk until the road curves left and starts going down in elevation, about a 500'walk. The hammock will open up, and there will be shrubs on either side with a couple of tall trees. The Rufous was flying around the many firebush in the area, along with several Ruby-throateds. There are several deep puddles, so I suggest rubber boots, or wet feet. Good luck. If you find the Blue-winged, please staple it to the nearest tree and give me a call.
