The bobcat has not been seen for 5 days at Wakodahatchee. It may have moved on. Both Great blues are "brooding" and the clock is ticking. The warblers are on the decline but palm warblers are still abundant and fearless as ever. Coots, moorhens and gallinules are fighting for territory and to see those guys go at it is something else again. The limpkins are howling up a storm and putting on a display of territorialism of their own. It is amazing how hard that bird is to discern even when you are looking right at it. You would never believe it what with the white spots. The heat is pretty bad the last week, and the duck weed is on the return. Green herons are less than last year. Sora are plentiful. And one lonely snipe. Nothing rare, just Florida in all of its simplcity and glory.
