Well, just to prove me wrong about migration being slow, all these damn warblers start showing up. At about 6:05 this afternoon I found a female Canada Warbler about 250 feet down the Matheson Service Road on the west side of Old Cutler Road (across from the entrance to the Fairchild TG parking). There are two puddles side by side about 10 feet in lenght where I was standing. I place a 2-foot log on the left edge of the road to mark where I was standing. About 50 farther down the road there are a couple smaller puddles. The Canada was coming down and bathing in the puddles, then it perched along the left side and preened, before coming back to the puddles. It was never more than 2 feet above the ground. A Yellow-throated Warbler and Northern Waterthrush were also enjoying the puddles.

I will state it clearly that I stand corrected. After having the priviledge of enjoying Kentucky, Chestnut-sided, Tennessee, Swainson's, and now Canada in the last 3 days, pluse other goodies like Mizzippi Kite, I have a change of opinion. In my humble opinion, this is the best slow migration I've ever seen.
