Today's 5:30-6:30 AM radar loop showed much migration promise over extreme South Florida and the event was confirmed in Cape Florida, as well as Trey/Toe/Larry's spot. A quick afternoon visit yielded numerous birds throughout Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. The best bird: LARK SPARROW in the Youth Camping area. Four Merlins in the south part spiced up the action, especially with the Blue Jay that played "chicken."

NUMEROUS: American Redstart (bus loads), Ovenbird, Cape May, Black-and-white, Worm-eating

GOOD NUMBERS: Northern Parula, Black-throated Blue, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Eastern Kingbird

A FEW: Red-eyed Vireo, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Baltimore Oriole, Summer Tanager, Chestnut-sided, Prairie, Common Yellowthroat, Prothonotary

Early in the day, Michelle, Rafael and Liz saw Common Nighthawks, Blue Grosbeaks and Eastern Wood-Pewee. They may have additional birds.
