About 10 minutes ago around 6:00, I was watching the hordes of gulls heading east, when a medium-sized anatidae flew fast over head. I caught a3 second glimse, when it flew near the canal not far from the bay. It had a white belly and a black neck. It was very fast and was definatly a duck or relative. It had a short, fat neck, but didnt call, I think it's a brant, but I should probably look in my book, first. Could it be anything else?

Also, along with the small ring-bills and laughers heading out from inland, what are the larger gulls?
Herring or black-back?
