Possible Thick-billed Vireo at Royal Palm

I birded Royal Palm and Long Pine Key this morning, hoping for Florida Leafwing butterflies. No luck there, but I did turn up a vireo that may have been a Thick-billed. I entered Gumbo Limbo trail from the parking lot, and the bird was on the righthand side of the greenway about 100 yards down from the pond. It was foraging in fairly thick cover, mainly in the shade. I could see that the underparts were uniformly buffy, and I assumed at first it was a White-eyed juvenile (lacking the usual yellow highlights). But I caught two looks at the bird's head when it was in the sunshine, and noted a broken white eye-ring (but not very pronounced) and a distinctly yellow loral line. So, maybe . . . I did not notice bill color since I was focusing on the head pattern.

Nothing else notable in the bird line, but I had two day-flying moths with a red patch on the forewing and white and black bands behind, very showy, about 2 inches in width. Any ideas?

Good birding, Susan
