I found a Bell's Vireo today at the Annex south of Lucky Hammock. The bird was seen on the west side of the road just before the new chain link gate that goes into the fish farm. Yes there is a fish farm just west of this area. I have had about a dozen species of warbler in the last week, the best being Chestnut-sided Warbler.

There is a heavily fruiting Strangler Fig at the C-111E canal just past the Everglades Store along 9336. I park on the east side of the canal, south side of 9336, the tree is located just after you walk past the gate. I have had Chestnut-sided Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Worm Eating Warbler, Baltimore Oriole and several other warbler species. This seems like a good area to check while there is still fruit. I have also seen Brown Thrasher, Eastern Wood-Pewee, Painted Bunting and may have heard an Alder Flycatcher today. About a mile and a half down the road that goes along the canal, there are some other good areas. I have not checked them much before because it is a long walk. There are some hammock areas that should have lots of birds while migration is on.
