I'm not sure what you refer to as the service road, but I entered the side of Matheson Hammock west of Old Cutler Rd., the nature trail next to the unpaved parking lot. I entered the trail on the right side, i.e. north side, where the trail snakes through thicker vegetation, and the limestone is quite exposed. There is much leaf-litter there. I found the Swainson's Warblers quite close to the trail-head, about a ten minute careful stroll from the parking lot. I tried to find a noticeable mark (short from tying a blaze which I did not have), but that part of the trail is quite non-descript. Just walk in a bit from the lot (I could hear the traffic quite loud), and listen, keep your eyes peeled for skulkers. Thanks and good luck.
