A good number of birders braved early morning raindrops for the first Barnes TAS walk of the fall season. The people in charge of the park gates were not so brave, however, but after a quick reshuffling of parking arrangements we had at it. There were a respectable number of birds for this early in the season, and highlights included Yellow-throated Vireo, Chuck-will's-widow, a silent empidonax flycatcher (consensus leaned toward Least), 8 warbler species, and scores of Red-eyed Vireos.
