Well, the Caper Tree was the jackpot for the evening again! I showed up with my dad at around 4:30 and all was quiet, except for 2 noisy Cooper's Hawks. Went to the boardwalk; saw one prairie warbler and gnatcatchers. By 5:30 we were quiet annoyed at the lack of activity, but there was a lot of wind today making it hard to see movement in the trees.

As we were leaving, we saw several Red-eyed Vireos land on the Caper Tree. Soon, there were at least 6 or 7 flying about between the Caper Tree and the Trema (Shrubby plant with orange berries). Then, we saw it. Two bright wing bars, contrasting white on the primaries, and an eye ring. We each had a lifer with this Least Flycatcher.

Although not a lot of species today, the lifer made it worth it!

Angel and Mariel made an appearance tonight as well, it's great to see TAS birders out and about.

Happy Birding
