Got there today at 4:30. There was lots of activity around the Caper Trees near the nature center. At one point, there were 3 red-eyed vireos, 2 cardinals, 5+ gnatcatchers, 2 titmice, and my FOS Ruby Throated Hummingbird all on the same tree!

The resident Cooper's Hawk made a visit to the trees in front of the Nature Center, and the bird activity there stopped almost instantly. It almost caught a Mourning Dove in the tree, but it got away.

Around the Butterfly Garden sign, I saw one Prairie warbler and it hovered around 2 feet above my head for a few seconds. Also saw the hummingbird there as well (could have been a second one).

Saw one female redstart, and one gorgeous male parula. His colors were so bright it looked almost irridescent.

Over all, I saw almost 20 Red-Eyed Vireos in an hour! They were everywhere!

I'll be posting some pictures of the Hawk tomorrow!

I'll be back at the park in the afternoon tomorrow. Hopefully I'll get some decent pictures.

Happy Birding!
Ruben
