Nice save on the canned snake! It looks as though it might be the south Florida variant of the black racer, the everglades racer (Coluber constrictor paludicola). I think Alex or Jeff Weber have a better handle on the specifics than I do.
I can assure you that it is a variety of the southern black racer because it was in a Royal Crown soda can. If that snake had a Moon Pie to go along with it, the snake would have two of the basic food groups that I grew up on in old Myamah. See http://moonpie.com/history.asp
