The Ghost orchid also thrives in the Fakahatchee, and Big Cypress. If you go to Corkscrew think about going into the Fakahatchee Strand park and pushing back into the "off road" area past the first 25 feet of Brazilian pepper and enjoy the world of orchids that awaits you. The low water makes this a premier season to explore areas that otherwise would be inaccesible.
