Thanks to Roger and Brian for a fine trip. The roasting sun didn't seem to deter the birds and buutterflies and other wildlife today. Unfortunately, I was unable to get either of the two caracara I saw to pose, and the ghost orchid would have been best digiscoped. If you haven't seen it, I recommend you pay a quick visit to Corkscrew before the bloom is gone--it's a stunner and there's a scope setup that will give you wonderful views(bring your point and shoot digital and photograph it through the scope--you'll get a better image than I got).Here are three images from today..I assume that because this was as much a "nature hike" as bird ing expedition, that I won't be condemned for posting non bird pictures...
the hibiscus photo has only been sharpened-the color has not been enhanced;the spider made a wonderful geometry, and the butterfly has orange tipped "deely boppers' that i covet...
