Texas is a bit far(for me anyway) to go to see rubythroats, even in this profusion, so after the butterflies and panthers I expect to see on Saturday's TAS fieldtrip, Emily and I are off to Ecuador to see and hopefully photograph some "serious" hummingbirds-among other subjects...I will try to post some pics on a "neutral" site, so as not to run afoul of the birdboard rules...look for a link here in a month or so..
All of which raises the question--has anyone seen any hummers locally in any numbers? I've seen a few out on Loop Road this summer, but the hummers that visited my yard last fall haven't made an appearance yet.
