: Better late than never: Miami was the jump-off point for a trip to Costa Rica and Panama, so I managed to squeeze in a little birding over the first weekend of February. During my habitual stop at Robert Is Here for key lime milkshakes, there was a White-tailed Hawk present across the street on both mornings of February 3 & 4. One was full adult, the other juvenile. I had the particular delight of watching a kestrel make a few fruitless swoops on the juvenile as it perched on a dead limb. I'm guessing that these birds might be reliable there at mid-morning for awhile. Good birding.
