Unusual bird at Deering Estate?

Has anyone seen a medium-sized black bird with bright-red coloring on its head & (I think) a yellow beak, with a very loud, distinctive call at the Deering Estate?

I'm sorry this description is so general; I'm a beginner at this stuff (obviously)!

I saw this bird in April, and searched through some nature guides, but couldn't find an answer for what kind of bird it might be.
