: Went to Everglades today, with 2 lifers.

: No luck at Flynn's or Lucky Hammock (false-advertising). At Anhinga trail, 2 snakes were seen, and alligators were seen. Nothing out of the usual.
: On Gumbo Limbo, I crept up onto ovenbird, b. thrasher, catbird, and the usual 2 warblers. Guess which two warblers seen the most. It was nice to see my third ever yellow-throated warbler. There I saw my first Broad-winged Hawk. Not much more stopping until Mrazek Pond and West Lake, excluding a short Pah-hay-okee Overlook, with nothing but a Great-crested flycatcher. Mrazek had spoonbill and b.w. teal. West Lake had a nice Magrove water snake, red phase. Also there were black-and-white warbler, mottled duck, and a redstart.
: At Flamingo, I saw my first Western Kingbird. Also there were ALOT of Skimmer and ALOT of Willet. Spotted Sandpiper and crocodile, too. Red-shoulered hawk were plentiful. Possible scissor-tailed flycatcher. Did'nt stay that long, but two winter-only lifers is good.

Alex-
Wish I knew you were going to the Everglades. I know you need Waterthrush for your list and there was a Northern Waterthrush on the short Mangrove Trail at West Lake last week.

Our best bird at Lucky Hammock was a Yellow-Breasted Chat that performed in the open for the group. (My third). Saw Red-Shouldereds mating in the Hammock.

Also a beautiful Yellow-throated Vireo at Bear Lake Trail not far from the parking area (only my second).Maybe you've already seen them though?

On Christian Point Trail, a Brown-headed Flycatcher that most of my group saw in flight and perched.

At Eco Pond at Flamingo a long-distance view (but still a view) of 2 Scissor-tailed Flycatchers. And if your parents will stay there for dusk, Lesser Nighthawk!! You can very clearly see their wing bars and that they are not the Common. Did you get the Greater Flamingo that has been hanging out at the Visitor's Center at Flamingo. Great views!

At the Krome RR tracks, one White-tailed Kite over the field there and the Lark Sparrows still at Larry & Penny Thompson Park. For these last two destinations, check the excellent TAS locations URL.

I saw a White-Crowned Pigeon in flight on 9336 with no discernible white feathering on the head.

The male Vermilion flycatcher is still on Government Road (off I-75 headed south) although it has lost half of its habitat due to road construction.
