I woke up much earlier than I usually do this time of year to head south with my dad to his work, then took the car to A.D. Barnes. There I was hoping to see a few birds I have not seen since migration. It was a little later in the morning by the time I got there, but birds were still active in the area between the small fountain and the boardwalk.
White-crowned Pigeon- one
Red-eyed Vireo- three
Tufted Titmouse- one
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher- many, about twenty
Northern Parula- one
Prairie Warbler- two
Yellow-throated Warbler- two
American Redstart- two
The 216 street exit in Cutler Ridge had many Cave Swallows in the area, perhaps fifty.
Cutler Wetlands had quite a few shorebirds coming in around the southeast corner of the wetland. There were the usual Mottled Ducks, White Pelicans, waders, Least Terns, etc, but some more migrants, too:
Killdeer- not a migrant more than likely, but it fits in with the shorebird list
Semipalmated Plover
Black-necked Stilt
Greater Yellowlegs
Lesser Yellowlegs
Willet- unexpected at Cutler Wetlands
Solitary Sandpiper
Semipalmated Sandpiper
Least Sandpiper
Ruddy Turnstone
Pectoral Sandpiper
Barn Swallow
Purple Martin
Yellow Warbler
