There was a Bell's Vireo this morning (2/16) in the same area one was seen two weeks ago at the Flamingo Road ESL Site. An adult male Summer Tanager was feeding in a fruiting Strangler Fig among the Live Oaks in the southwest section of the site, it may be the same one found last December on the Broward CBC. Other notable birds were a Broad-winged Hawk soaring over the area and a Black-throated Green Warbler in the oaks. Flocks of Cedar Waxwings were putting on a good show feeding on the ripening figs along with the usual woodland birds. Birds not found were the resident Great Horned Owl(s) and the Yellow-breasted Chat that was seen there by John Hintermeister and others last weekend.
