Trey and I scanned the fields west of 217th Ave. along the main park road (9336) this afternoon in search of Upland Sandpipers. West of 217th Ave there is a long irrigation device on the south side of the road in a very nice looking grassy field. West of this field there is a plowed field with a dirt road running south between the two fields. There is a white water tower next to the dirt road about 1/4 mile south of the main road. The Upland Sandpipers were in the grassy field between the water tower and the irrigation device. We counted 10 in one pass with the scope, but the chances are there are many more since the grass is high enough to hide them. There were also a couple of Black-bellied Plovers and a Pectoral Sandpiper.
