Hey Robin,

When I lived in Minnesota, I witnessed a similar phenomenon when it came to birds we generally consider as being "non-migratory" as each Fall there would be movements of birds passing down the North Shore of Lake Superior. Flocks of Blue Jays and Crows would pass by in fairly good numbers. Plus Boreal Chickadees and Black-backed Woodpeckers work their way down the shoreline and past Hawk Ridge in Duluth. You would think you would hear of more numerous reports to the south, but that was not the case.
