A single Smooth-billed Ani was seen this afternoon in the overgrown field on Old Griffin Road in Broward County. Directions for those unfamiliar with this location: From I-95, exit at Griffin Road (Exit 23). Drive east 0.2 miles and bear right onto Old Griffin Road. Continue east 0.8 miles to the fields on the right side of Old Griffin Road. The ani was seen near the intersection of NW 6 Avenue and NW 3 Terrace. I saw two anis here in June, so hopefully the other bird is still around.
