From what I have read from the great SWTK god, Ken Myers research, this is peak time for the kites to congregate and put on enough body fat to get them to South America.
The Roost near the lake is the largest group of kites in the US and they should be gearing up for their trip from mid july thru august.
This was the most birds I have ever seen in ENP, and I hope that they are all park birds with young!!!!
