One lonely Barn Swallow represented fall migration this morning in Bill Baggs Cape Florida SP. However, there was an excellent assortment of fresh butterflies. An open area along the Pond Trail, just south of the mound, is thick with Cuban Crescents.

On Crandon Beach, Least Terns are increasing (145), as are Lesser Black-backed Gulls (39). More shorebirds are arriving -- a treat to see them in alternate plumage.
