Pelicans at Cutler Wetlands

Just got back from the Cutler Wetlands today. Unfortuantely, I am not too skilled in identifying shorebirds. There were many Killdeer and Least Sandpipers, but other than those, I can tell apart all the different peeps and other sandpipers. It would have helped if I had brought my scope with me. Quite a few Black-necked stilts were present. My question for anyone out there is: Is it a normal occurence to have White Pelicans here in July? We saw 8 Pelicans on the north side of the wetlands. I know they winter here, but I just don't know when their "winter" here begins.

List for the day:
8 White Pelicans
7 Glossy Ibis
Innumerable White Ibis
3 Great Blue Heron
20+ Great Egret
10 Wood Stork
10+ Black-necked Stilts
10+ Killdeer
Sandpipers galore
Little Blue Heron
3 Mottled Ducks
2 Green Heron

On the way out, we stopped at the bridge just east of the turnpike of 216th and saw at least 20 Cave Swallows.
