Though not as interesting as Cutler Wetlands, Crandon Beach is beginning to attract fall migrants. Today, mixed in with the summering flock of ~19-23 first and second summer Lesser Black-backed Gulls, were 5 adults. Two Great Black-backed Gulls and 2 Black Skimmers were also on flats. Shorebirds: Piping Plover (2), Wilson's Plover, Semipalmated Plover (5) and 2 Sanderlings in breeding plumage. Least Terns are now numbering ~50, including the youngsters.
