For white tailed kites the best place I have seen is Kissimmee Prairie state park just north of the town of Okeechobee. Last year they had several pairs (i think six pairs) of kites nesting in the park, I haven't been up there to check this year though. Contact the Park staff, as they are very nice and helpful as to locations and availability.
Good Luck
: I'm not gonna be able to do the Johnathan Dickinson trip Sunday, because I'm gonna be able to see similar birds on a trip to Space Coast on the 22-23.
: I'm gonna look for lifers like western kingbird, scissor-tailed Flycatcher, white-tailed Kite, Dickcissal and sparrow.
: Anything else there of any interest. Can anyone tell me the best place to find the white-tails? Thanks.
: Also, I found out there are two sub-species of palm warblers. What is the more coomon one here in the winter? Also, how are they distinguished?
