I went to Cutler wetlands this morning hoping to see the Flamingo. It wasn't there. The trip wasn't wasted, however. At the dump marsh nearby, I found a Loggerhead Shrike who was eating a giant water bug it had impaled on a barbed wire fence. I had read about this well-known behavior many times, but had never actually seen it.
