We finally were able to make it out to the Cutler Wetlands today.
It was well worth the trip. We spotted the beautiful Flamingo as soon as we drove up. Close to sundown as we were leaving the Flamingo took off and flew over the wetlands several circling and then landed further into the marsh. It was wonderful to see the Least Terns driving into the water just feet from us. We were fortunate to be able to catch them on video.
There were also all sorts of wading birds!

Here is a list of what we saw from 6:45pm to 7:45pm:

1 Flamingo
7 Green Heron
8 Great Egret
2 Great Blue Heron (1 white morph)
2 Little Blue Heron (1 white morph)
4 Tri-colored Heron
25 Black-necked Stilts
35 White Ibis
15 Glossy Ibis
35+ Boat-tailed Grackle
20+ Red-winged Blackbird
5 Least Tern
1 Laughing Gull (flew over briefly)
8 American Coot
25 Purple Martin (both female & male)
15 Common Moorhen
4 Mottled Ducks
7 White Pelicans (beautiful!)
10 Killdeer
1 Least Bittern (lifer for us!)
2 Common Nighthawk (heard on North side across from Wetlands)

WOW...It is amazing that we were able to view 21 species and about 232 birds in just 1 hour!

Thank you Toe for the directions to the Cutler Wetlands much appreciated!
We saw a few other birders while we were there but unfortunately we did not have the chance to get their names.
Well wish we could go back tomorrow but got to work.
Good luck birding to all.
