A nice (for the first day of summer) assortment of shorebirds, etc. were seen during my afternoon visit to Tigertail Beach on Marco Island, including:

Reddish Egret (one of each morph)
Black-bellied Plover (several; only one in breeding plumage)
Wilson's Plover (many)
Semipalmated Plover (several)
American Oystercatcher (one)
Willet (several)
Whimbrel (one)
Marbled Godwit (eight)
Ruddy Turnstone (many)
Red Knot (many, in several groups, possibly over 100 in all; only a few were in breeding plumage, one had a green band/flag on its right leg)
Sanderling (many)
Semipalmated Sandpiper (one)
Western Sandpiper (one)
Short-billed Dowitcher (many)
Royal Tern (many)
Sandwich Tern (one)
Least Tern (many)
Black Skimmer (many)

One target bird that I missed was Snowy Plover; this bird has eluded me during my last several visits to Tigertail. Has anyone seen Snowy Plovers at Tigertail in recent months?
