Nothing too much bird-related to see around Miami in June, but I have seen some birds in the last few weeks worth noting. One, there have been a few occasions where I have seen Cooper's Hawks in the Miami Shores area. Last night I saw an Eastern-Screech Owl in Biscayne Park as well as one in Miami Shores last week.

The exotic birds have been out and about as well. Common Mynas are feeding yound at Frankie's Big City Grill, the sandwich shop where I work. Monk, White-winged, Yellow-chevroned, Red-masked, and Blue-crowned Parakeets have all been seen or heard recently, as did an Orange-winged Parrot and Cghesnut-fronted Macaws. Spot-breasted Orioles have been almost daily it seems at different locations. It is interesting to see that most of them have been seen at mid-day, between 11:00 and 1:00 in Miami Shores, Biscayne Park, and Morningside Park. A few birds have been fledglings.
